Today I showed up to perform a no cool call, Upon my investigation, I found something had dropped on the disconnect. Deenergizing the system. After reenergizing the system taking a temperature split yielded a twenty two degree temperature difference. System working properly at this time.
Repairs have been made.
System is currently cooling with a 24° temperature split. However 24 V was bypassed, we need to come back a later date to resolve the issue. Replace control board
Upon inspection, I found both units to be on and running. The first unit on the right hand side of the store was only getting a 16° temperature split. I did find the condenser coils were extremely dirty. This could be cause of the low split but unable to tell for sure until they are cleaned. Also found a bad single run capacitor for the condenser fan motor on this unit. And also found the drain line had been disconnected and was not in good shape. For the second unit on the left side of the store, I found it getting a 20° split. However, the condenser coils are also extremely dirty and there is an elbow on the return duct holding a filter on the roof. This is allowing all the debris to get inside of the system, and is clogging up the evaporator coil. Evaporator coil is very dirty as well. There is a very bad pigeon problem on the roof, causing Both of the systems to Clog up with feathers and other debris.
Upon inspection, I found all components of the system to be operating. However, the temperature split was low at 9°. Upon checking pressures, I found the system to be low on refrigerant. System was charged with 3 pounds of R410A refrigerant. System is now cooling getting a 19° temperature split. Add R410A refrigerant
Upon arrival, found the reversing valve wire, came off by tightened it up and placed it back on. Unit is now cooling within manufacture, specs.
Replace 3 phase disconnect box. Test operations to ensure system is working correctly.

Found system cooling in 1st stage and not in 2nd stage. This was an issue from the time we installed the thermostat. The thermostat is not compatible with a 2 stage heat pump. Will inform Dave to get a 2 stage cooling heat pump thermostat so system will utilize both stages. For now the system is connnected to 2 stage cooling in the unit on roof. System cooling at 100% capacity at this time. This will be a warranty call. No charge. Spoke with Dave and defined that I will buy a two stage heat pump thermostat at the local Home Depot and install it to get this taken care of today. Installed Honeywell 2stage heat pump thermostat and checked operation. System now fully functional.
Upon inspection I found 1 thermostat set to cool and 1 thermostat set to hear. I switched the 1 thermostat from heat to cool and both systems are working properly at this time.
Found attic insulation low. Highly recommend re insulating home for better temperature control. Ceiling reading between 87 and 91 degrees. 82 degrees inside. Checked operation of unit on roof. Found system cooling but both indoor and outdoor coils very dirty. Performed coil cleaning on indoor and outdoor coils of unit. Found indoor variable speed blower drawing 5.2 amps and nameplate says it should be at 4.0 amps. System cooling more efficiently after coil clean with 24 degree split temperature. Clean indoor and outdoor coils for better operation of equipment.
Installed homeowners thermostat and replaced fuse in package unit.
